January 5
Officer Jada Gunter discovered a couple at the football field after city park closing hours. They were advised to leave the area.
January 6
Officer Gunter performed security checks at: the golf course, airport, UPS, Fixtures for Less, American Diesel, Turner Drive, Baileys, FGBC, Love’s, football field, city park, and Willow Care.
Officer Gunter discovered an individual at MidWest Walnut well before opening hours. She spoke to the person, who identified themselves as a maintenance person. 
Officer Joby Hoopes responded to a business on East Main for a suspicious person. He found someone waiting for a ride. Officer Hoopes told the individual that if the ride did not arrive, they needed to move away from the business. 
January 7
On routine patrol, Officer Gunter found three juveniles on S. Center. She advised them of the 10:00 p.m. curfew for juveniles, and sent them home.
Officer Gunter completed security checks at: the golf course, Love’s, the airport, FGBC, UPS, Fixtures for Less, the football field, the city park, and American Diesel.
Officer Wade Bloomer assisted EMS with entering a house for a medical emergency. 
Officer Gunter discovered a vehicle parked in a posted no parking area. She spoke to the driver and advised them to move. The driver became agitated and left the area. 
January 8
While on routine patrol, Officer Joe Barnhouse discovered a light on in the First Baptist Church. On investigation, he also found a door open. He cleared the building, secured the door, and spoke to the pastor. 
January 9
Officer Barnhouse responded to Dollar General for a subject who had previously been trespassed from the property. While in the store, the subject threw items onto the floor and threatened the store employee. Officers checked the property and promised extra patrol. 
Multiple individuals brought snacks and drinks to the department for National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
Officer David Hocking responded to Love’s Travel Center for a verbal domestic disturbance. He found a driver locked out of his truck by another individual. After speaking to the individual, they agreed to leave the truck with their belongings. He gave the individual a courtesy ride to another location.
Officer Cronin responded to Love’s Travel Center for a vehicle versus deer accident. 
January 10
Officer Barnhouse responded to Tractor Supply for a report of an assault involving customers and an employee. Employees stated that a customer in the store became concerned for their safety at noticing another customer with a dog in the store. The customer began to speak to a manager when another employee stepped in. The customer and employee became involved in an altercation. The incident will be investigated by reviewing video evidence and witness statements. 
Officer Hocking responded to Dollar General for an individual that had been previously trespassed from the property. The individual left without incident. 
Officers responded to Holloway Drive for a suspicious vehicle containing a subject who is a habitual offender of abusing inhalants. They took a suspect into custody.
January 11
Officer Jake Cronin responded to UPS where a driver reported an individual jumping from the back of a truck. Officer Cronin did not locate any one but took a description of the person.
January 12
Officer Hoopes took a report of a runaway juvenile. He located the juvenile, and they were returned to a parent.
Officer Hoopes responded to a residence on East Third Street for a suicidal person. They transported the subject to Ozarks Healthcare for mental evaluation.
January 13
Officer Gunter performed security checks at: the golf course, airport, UPS, Fixtures for Less, American Diesel, Turner Drive, Willow Care, Love’s, FGBC, and Peterbilt.
January 14
Officer Gunter performed security checks at: the golf course, the airport, Baileys, FGBC, Love’s, American Diesel, Turner Dr., Willow Springs Apartments, Willow Care, Casey’s, and Fixtures for Less.
January 15
Officer Hedlesten responded to Love’s Travel Center for a medical emergency. The individual refused medical care. 
Officer Gunter responded to West Plains Bank for an alarm. She verified the building’s security and spoke to a keyholder. 
Officers Hocking and Gates responded to a domestic disturbance on State Route 76. They transported a juvenile to the grandparents for the evening. 
January 16
Officer Hedlesten responded to West Plains Bank for an alarm. He found all doors locked and the business secure.
Officer Hedlesten responded to Jasper Engines for a medical emergency. EMS assisted the individual. 
January 17
Assistant Chief Lewis took a report regarding missing cats. 
January 18
Officer Gates responded to a business on West Main regarding a suspicious person. The subject entered the business for a purchase, but when they left, covered their face with a bandanna, alarming an employee. When Officer Gates began to investigate, the owners stated no incident took place with the business. 
Officer Gunter performed security checks at: the golf course, the airport, FGBC, UPS, Fixtures for Less, American Diesel, Turner Dr., Willow Care, MFA, Simmons Bank, and Willow Springs Apartments.
Officer Cronin responded to Love’s Travel Center for a report of a trailer on fire. He arrived on the scene as the fire department called a control time. He remained with the trailer while the contents were safely transferred.
