Calls for Service

 

January 26

Officer Joby Hoopes responded to Park Street for a suspicious individual. He did not locate the subject.

Officer Hoopes responded to Mercy Clinic for a person in a vehicle possibly using an unknown substance. The subject received a citation.

January 27

Willow Springs EMS called the station to report a vehicle following them and flashing their headlights. Officer Jake Cronin assisted EMS in checking the ambulance. Officer Cary Gates met with the vehicle and found a driver concerned about a possible mechanical issue with the ambulance. They discovered the snow chains were causing sparks as the ambulance traveled the highway.

Officer Hoopes responded to request for an officer presence for an individual who needed to make repairs to a vehicle while on property they had been trespassed from. 

Officer Cronin received a call from 911 of an open phone line with an active verbal domestic confrontation. No individuals would speak to the 911 operators. Investigation plotted the call to the area of Booster Field. Officers responded but were unable to locate any individuals.

During a routine traffic stop, Officer Cronin discovered an individual with active warrants out of Willow Springs. The individual posted bond from the police department.

January 28

Officer Cronin responded to a business on East Main for found property.

January 29

Officer Jada Gunter received a call of an unknown person entering a residence on Park Street then acting suspiciously. Officer Paul McCormick contacted the homeowner and took information of a person staying there. The officers confirmed the individual had permission to be in the residence.

Officer Cary Gates assisted an individual asking to reserve a room at the Comfort Inn. The individual contacted a relative in Mountain View for pick up. 

Officer David Hocking responded to Willow Villa Apartments for a possible domestic altercation. He discovered a couple having a verbal argument. He explained the 12-hour rule to them, and they separated for the night.

Officer Wade Bloomer responded to a residence on East Main. While on scene, an individual began having a seizure. EMS transported the individual.

January 30

Officer Gunter assisted Willow Care with a resident in a wheelchair determined to leave the facility on their own. After explaining her concerns about the resident in the cold weather, the person agreed to remain until a ride could be secured.

Assistant Chief Alan Lewis took a report of property damage from a resident on East Main.

Officer Gunter assisted a caller from Summit Street with identity theft.

Officer Joe Barnhouse completed security checks at: Simmons Bank, Tractor Supply, South Central Mo Credit Union, Michelle’s U-Lock, Midwest Walnut, E Main business plaza, White Ind, Cox Health, Booster Field, Yarber, Bailey’s, West Plains Bank, MFA Oil, Town and Country, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Fosters, and Turner Drive homes.

Chief Wes Ellison assisted fire departments and EMS with traffic control for an accident on US 60-63.

Assistant Chief Lewis responded to Midwest Walnut for a report of property damage. Investigation showed that windows were tampered with, but nothing appeared to be missing. 

January 31

Officer Barnhouse completed security checks at: Loves, Snappy Mart, MidWest Walnut, White Industries, Town and Country, Comfort Inn, Caseys, E Main business plaza, and YMCA.

Officer Hocking assisted EMS on Sixth Street with a possible overdose. EMS transported the individual.

February 1

Officer Barnhouse completed security checks at: downtown business district, Loves, Snappy Mart, and the airport.

February 2

Officer Bloomer responded to Willow Villa apartments to assist with a juvenile issue.

Chief Wes Ellison and Assistant Chief Alan Lewis responded to High Street to assist with a juvenile issue.

Assistant Chief Lewis and Officer Hoopes responded to Bear Crossing Truck Wash for a non-injury vehicle accident.
