Calls for Service

June 22

Sgt. Joby Hoopes responded to Good Graces Pharmacy for an alarm. He searched the building and found all secure.

Animal Control Officer Mark Templemere received a call of a stray dog on West High Street. He called the phone number on the tag and found the dog to be where it belonged. 

Officer Cary Gates assisted a motorist with directions. 

Officer Gates responded to Park Street for a disturbance. He spoke with individuals who reported juveniles yelling and cursing.

Officer McGinnis responded to Ash Street for an argument. One subject left the residence.

June 23

Officer Ryan McGinnis assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle.

Officer Struble received a request for a wellbeing check on Maple Street. An individual could be heard calling for help, stating they were locked in a building. The individual stated they were homeless and would go to their mother’s residence.

Officers called ACO Templemere to collect a dog chained outside with no food, water, or shelter. 

June 24

Officers Cronin and Gates responded to Love’s Travel Stop for a hit-and-run accident possibly involving an intoxicated driver. They arrested the driver and charged them with driving while intoxicated – second, hit and run, and resisting or interfering with arrest of a felony.

Sgt. Hoopes responded to Pine Street for a disturbance. The subject left the residence when police were called. Sgt. Hoopes explained judicial remedies. 

June 27

Officers responded to the library for a report of fireworks. They advised the ordinances to juveniles with fireworks.

Officer McGinnis removed debris from the roadway.

Officer Hocking received a call from the manager of the concession stand at the city pool reporting a juvenile had shattered the glass of the stand. He located the juvenile and a report will be forwarded to the juvenile office.

Officer McGinnis assisted Howell County Sheriff’s Office and EMS with securing a scene. 

June 28

Officer Barnhouse and Officer Hocking responded to Love’s Travel Stop for a two-vehicle, non-injury accident in the parking lot. 

Officer Gates responded to Midwest Walnut for a report of suspicious activity. The reporting party noted where an individual climbed a stacked set of pallets and are concerned about the safety of the situation.

June 29

Sgt. Hoopes responded to Ninth Street for a possible domestic situation. He found a married couple in disagreement over personal property.  

Officer McGinnis responded to Town and Country for a report of homeless individuals sleeping in front of the business. He informed the individuals to leave, and they complied.
