Area schools announce the introduction of the Ozark Mountain Conference

A newly established Ozark Mountain Conference is poised to kick off its inaugural competitive season in the fall of 2024. The new conference is a culmination of collaborative efforts by schools with shared values, sizes, and community beliefs.
A spokesperson for the conference expressed enthusiasm about the prospects, stating, "We are excited about this new opportunity for our schools and our kids. These schools came together looking for a 'good fit,' noting they have similar sizes, community beliefs, and district characteristics."
Schools joining the Ozark Mountain Conference include:
- Bolivar School District (Ozark Conference)-Current High School Enrollment: 858
- Branson School District (Central Ozark Conference)-Current High School Enrollment: 1350 
- Carl Junction School District (Central Ozark Conference)-Current High School Enrollment: 1011
- Logan-Rogersville School District (Big 8 Conference)-Current High School Enrollment: 734
- Marshfield School District (Big 8 Conference)-Current High School Enrollment: 903
-West Plains R-VII School District (Ozark Conference)-Current High School Enrollment: 1152
The Ozark Mountain Conference is poised to set a new standard for academic and athletic excellence. With a shared vision for student growth and development, these schools are primed to create a legacy of sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic achievement.  West Plains R-VII School District Superintendent Dr. Wesley Davis expressed gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing the community's commitment to the success and competition of its students. He reflected on the rich history of rivalries, competitions, and enduring friendships forged during their tenure in the Ozark Conference and is thankful to those schools.
