Eagles dominate Rhinos

From the opening kickoff, the Eagles outmatched the Agape Rhinos in every facet of the rain-soaked game Friday night. At the halfway point, the Eagles held a commanding 60-0 lead. The Rhinos were able to add a couple second half scores of their own to make the final score 60-12.
It didn't take long for Liberty to put points on the board. At the 10:23 mark in the first quarter, Kal Acklin rumbled 17 yards to pay dirt. The Drew Ripko extra point made it 7-0.
Agape couldn't get anything going on their first drive and went for it on fourth and long from their own end. In fact, despite having negative total yards in the first half, Agape never punted the ball, regardless of where they were on the field.
On the next play, Ripko rushed for a 37-yard touchdown. The kick made it 14-0 Liberty.
Carter Pruett ended Agape's next drive with an interception. A couple plays later, Pruett found Ripko for a 27-yard score to take a 21-0 lead.
Another turnover stopped Agape as they coughed up the ball on the wet field. It was Gavin Reese tossing his first touchdown of the game when he found Adrien Pendegraft for an 11-yard strike.
Pruett once again intercepted a pass to end Agape's next series. This time, Reese found Lucas Frazier for a 31-yard touchdown pass.
Another Agape failed fourth down attempt gave the Eagles the ball in great field position. Pruett ended the drive with an 8-yard touchdown scamper.
Ripko nabbed an interception to stop the Rhinos’ next drive. At the end of the first quarter, the Eagles led 40-0.
Reese then threw his third score of the game finding Sam Antrim in the end zone.
On Liberty's next possession, Parker Tune tossed his first touchdown pass to Brayden Mays.
Eddie Rodriguez tallied the Eagles’ final score with 3:14 to go in the first half on a 16 yard run.
Agape's Caleb Newell ran for a 43-yard score in the third quarter to get the Rhinos on the scoreboard.
Craig Abrahamson tossed a 92-yard score to fellow Rhino Isaiah Huntington late in the fourth.
Now, Liberty begins the meat of their schedule this week as conference play begins. The Thayer Bobcats will bring Green Nation to the Nest for a Friday night rumble.
