The Mountain View-Birch Tree Liberty Eagles hosted the Lamar Tigers Saturday afternoon. The teams took the field a little late because of a scoreboard malfunction that was never resolved. Fans and spectators were not able to watch the game clock or score during the game.
The first half was a defensive battle, with Lamar leading 8-0 at half time. In the second half, the Eagles seemed to be plagued with penalties. Lamar was leading in the fourth quarter 32-0 when Liberty put eight points up.
First year Head Coach Kenaga and his players finished 10 and 3, which was impressive for a squad picked to finish 6 and 3. The Eagles had an outstanding season and are looking to learn from this year's experiences.
