Howell County Futbol Club Wraps Season

The Howell County Futbol Club wrapped up their 2021 indoor soccer season. This was the team's fifth year competing at Lake Country. The team is comprised of players from West Plains, Mountain View, Van Buren, Norwood and Ava.
The team competed in a 13-team round robin play competition and ended up tying for fifth place. The girls played against numerous club teams including SWMO Rush, Lady Knights,  Bad Aces and the Lady Prospects among other teams comprised of girls from Aurora, Camdenton, Rolla, Willard, Springfield, Logan-Rogersville, Fair Grove and Branson. HCFC went 5-3 on the 8-game season scoring 45 goals in total. Their biggest win was against the Bad Aces 9-1.
Head Coach Nathan Wagner stated, "It's rare for a coach to round up a bunch of kids from different communities. Half of them are strangers until the first time they step on the practice field. Then I ask them to play a game and succeed. These girls are one of those rarities. They've got it all: speed, stamina, a fierce offense, strong defense, and if the opponent gets through that, our shot stopper, Madalyn Russell is there backing them up. I've never heard a complaint from any of them, on the field or on the bench. They came together and let us see them flourish in this very competitive game and I'm very proud to be their coach. I can't wait to see what they can achieve in their career with this team and individually."
