Liberty High School welcomes new assistant volleyball coach

The Liberty High School volleyball team welcomes new assistant coach Brandi Blankenship to the program. Blankenship is stepping in after assistant coach Erica Spittler took over the volleyball program at Cabool High School.
Blankenship is a West Plains native and graduated from West Plains High School in 2009. She played volleyball for the Zizzers from 2005 to 2009 where she was a setter and led her team in assists, aces, points, digs and attacks. After graduation, Blankenship attended Missouri State University where she graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.
"I played volleyball for ten years, starting in elementary school and all the way through high school. I have coached junior high volleyball for seven years as well as junior high cross country and track," stated Blankenship.
At Liberty, Blankenship will be teaching girls physical education and health classes along with being the assistant volleyball coach.
Blankenship has a 12-year-old daughter, Lexi, who will be attending Liberty Middle School and playing volleyball.
"I have very high expectations for this season," Blankenship remarked on the upcoming volleyball season. "I believe, as the season progresses and the girls gain more confidence in themselves, they will be able to go far."
