Liberty Lady Eagles navigating through season

The season has not been an easy one on the Liberty Lady Eagles. Having only one sub, a grueling first three weeks of the season and being up against teams that boast club level players and full benches, it has had the Lady Eagles struggling to be competitive. The girls are learning with each game and practice, navigating through their season.
On Friday, April 1 the Lady Eagles hosted the West Plains Lady Zizzers. It was one of the first good weather games the Lady Eagles have seen so far. The Eagles only scored one goal for the game. (Fr) Kaydence Farris took a shot from 12 yards out and sunk one in the top left corner of the goal box. The end score for the game was Liberty 1, West Plains 4.
"The girls seemed like they weren't in this game fully," stated Head Coach Ashley Roegge. "I know that a lot of the girls were friends with some of the West Plains girls, but they didn't come out to play aggressive or to win, and it showed."
The following Tuesday, April 5, the Lady Eagles welcomed the New Covenant Academy Lady Warriors. (So) Tati Chavez was the only Eagle to score during the 1-5 loss. (Fr) Farris took a beautiful corner kick that landed at the backside of the goal where (So) Chavez was waiting to sink it in.
"This team had a couple of strong players," stated Head Coach Roegge. "My girls showed me they were really trying hard to do the things we worked on in practice. That even gave them a goal on a set piece. I don't care what the score is, as long as the girls are trying to beat their previous self."
