Watts Signs with Avila

Liberty Senior Tyler Watts signs with Avila University after a devastating injury destroyed his senior football season. Watts had been in talks to play for Avila prior to the heartbreaking start of his senior season. He stayed in communication as he healed after surgery. On October 21, 2021, Watts was offered a position on the Avila football team. At Avila, students can accept an academic or athletic scholarship. Taking the academic scholarship offers him the most money for school, so Watts chose to take the academic scholarship. His plan for Avila is to play football and pursue a nursing degree. Watts wants to become a flight nurse.
