Awards given, council members sworn in at Extension Council meeting

The Howell County University of Missouri Extension Council has new members as of the annual meeting on March 5. Outgoing Chairman Ray Riggs emceed the meeting Thursday night in the Extension Office. 
Outgoing officers and council members were recognized: Raymond Williams, Ruth Waggoner, Daniel McKinney, Justin Huddleston, Tyler Osborn, and Blake Crow. 
 
Howell County Clerk Kelly Waggoner was on hand to swear in the new council members and officers: Keny Kelley, chairman, Robert Burtrum, vice-chairman, Jennifer Poor, secretary, Caleb Morrison, treasurer, Tim Cozort, Cole Henry, Derek Danahy, and Tarra Hackworth. The remaining four members of the council are returning members: Riggs, Christin Byrd, Mickey Walker, and David Snodgras. Bruce Williams remains the commissioner liaison, and Greg Collins remains the city-appointed member. 
 
Three award recognitions closed the evening. The Albert & Frank Forester family is a Missouri Century Farm recipient. The State Fair Farm family are the Ross & Julie Hart family. Present to accept is award was Tyler Osborn. He is the MU Extension Council Leader’s Honor Roll Award, an award nominated by extension staff to honor someone who promotes agricultural growth, community development, and educational access.
