Dry cured bacon class offered Nov. 18

Are you interested in curing your own bacon and food preservation? 4-H specialist Kyle Wake with the University of Missouri–Extension will teach a dry cured bacon class on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at the Howell County Extension Center, located at 1376 Bill Virdon Blvd. West Plains, Mo. 

 

Through this class, attendees will gain key skills needed to cure bacon. Attendees will also leave with a pork belly that will be in the first stages of the curing process, ready to finish at home in a refrigerator.

The cost of the class will be $55 for 4-H members and $65 for adults. Class size is limited with first paid first served enrollment. For questions or to register, contact the Howell County Extension Center at 417-256-2391. The deadline to register is November 4.
