FFA students from Liberty High School plant 100 daffodil bulbs

A 25-year tradition with the Mountain View Garden Club continues at Liberty High School. Thirteen FFA students from Mrs. Nicholson's and Mr. Radford's classes met in the courtyard of the school to plant the 100 daffodil bulbs that had been donated by the Mountain View Garden Club. The members of the club explained to the students that when planting the small bulb that the pointed end should be up and then placed into a 6-inch deep hole and then covered with the removed soil. The bulbs should then be well watered and covered with mulch. The ground in the courtyard was virgin soil so getting to the 6 inch depth was not an easy task. Everyone seemed to enjoy working in the dirt, knowing that come spring, they would be rewarded by the knowledge that they had been the ones who had added that spectacular color to the courtyard. The Mountain View Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., the Central Region Garden Clubs, Inc., and the Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri, Inc.
