GOCAT to Host Technology Showcase TODAY

GOCAT’s annual Technology Showcase will be today, Aug. 4,  from 4 to 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to drop in, tour the facility, and see all the changes that have taken place at GOCAT over the past year. Several demonstrations are planned and will include virtual reality, plasma cutting, and CNC milling. Representatives will be on hand to answer questions about these technology programs as well as to discuss apprenticeships, enrollment, financial aid, veteran services and other information.
Their new welding program starts on Aug. 23. This is a 32-week, 25-college-credit certificate program. Students will attend nine daytime classes – five (5) during the fall semester, four (4) during the spring. This new program has been developed with input from GOCAT’s employer partners.
“Our goal is to help our students gain employment within a strong industry,” said Roy Crouch, Employment and Education Specialist for GOCAT.
