Booster Club auction raises $17k!

The Willow Springs Bears Football Booster Club has announced the fundraising total following their sixth annual fundraising dinner last Saturday. According to Club Treasurer Michele Myers, this year's event raised $17,000 to support Bears football.

At the auction, head coach Jacob Brookshire talked about the ways the Booster Club is already supporting the team this season. Namely, the Boosters partly funded a summer training trip to Branson, covering both hotel and meal costs for the team. This year, the Club is planning to provide an equipment shed for the practice field.

Future goals include new uniforms for the middle school team, all meals at 2027 summer training camps, equipment and off-season gear.

In the event’s program, the Booster Club thanked the coaches, the players, the parents and families, donors and local businesses, and the community, “Football may be played on the field, but this program is built by an entire community. Every coach who teaches. Every player who works. Every parent who sacrifices. Every donor who gives, and every community member who makes a difference.”
