Crash Claims Life of Summersville Teen

A single-car crash claimed the life of a Summersville teen and injured two others. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 2:55 p.m. on Saturday afternoon on Highway 17 at the Summersville city limits.
The accident occurred when the Chevrolet Silverado driven by the 17-year-old who lost his life. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, overcorrected and overturned. Two of the occupants were ejected.
The driver was pronounced deceased at Mercy St. Francis Hospital by Dr. Dietsche at 3:45 p.m.
There were two other teens in the vehicle. A 16-year-old male who was wearing a seatbelt suffered moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital by a private party. A 15-year-old passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt was seriously injured and taken from the scene by air ambulance.
This is Troop G’s third fatality in 2022 compared to eight for the same period of time in 2021.
