Expect Different Recycling Bags

The cost of a roll of recycling bags for out-of-towners in Mountain View has been raised to $5 following a unanimous vote by the Board of Aldermen on Feb. 14. Formerly $3, the city’s cost to provide the bags has increased to $4.86 per roll.
Supply chain issues also mean the manufacturer could not fill the city’s usual order for the bags, and the sanitation supervisor, Dave Abbey, had to take the product he was offered. For the next several months, recycling bags in Mountain View will be green and say “J&J Refuse” instead of “City of Mountain View.”
