Garden Club Yard of the Month

The Mountain View Garden Club has chosen the New Covenant Ministries Church on East Fifth Street as the September Yard of the Month. The main focus of attention is the island planting featuring a crabapple tree, a bright pink blooming crepe myrtle shrub surrounded by white flowers of hostas and brightly colored petunias. Other plantings on the property include two pots of canna lilies, a bed featuring a hibiscus and colorful annuals and another container with a pink mandevilla in bloom. Plants were purchased from the local ABC Greenhouse and the MV-BT school district FFA greenhouse.

There is also a birdbath and several pieces of statuary to accent the landscaping. Lawn care is provided by the Rutledge family. The MVGC appreciates the efforts of this congregation to beautify their property and add to the attractiveness of our community.
