Naked, on probation, and approaching a preteen

W.P. man arrested over May incident
Porch camera footage captures West Plains’ Joshua T. Mansfield, 35, telling an eleven-year-old boy he’s, “coming for him,” according to court documents. The child was on his own front porch, and Mansfield was fully nude during the brief interaction.

West Plains Police Department responded to the incident on Garrett Dr. on May 15. Charges of first-degree harassment and sexual misconduct involving a child under the age of 15 were filed on May 28, and a warrant for his arrest was issued on June 2.

After a psychiatric hold, Mansfield is in custody of the Howell County Jail as of Monday morning, Sheriff Roberts confirms.

Mansfield is currently on probation for a September 2025 burglary incident. Guilty via Alford plea, Mansfield kicked in the door of his neighbor’s house, entered, and briefly removed a blanket and folding chair before putting the items back, according to court documents.

He was sentenced by the Honorable Steven Privette to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections under a suspended execution of sentence with five years’ probation. Mansfield’s probation began in February and was revoked June 3.

In 2025, arrest records show Mansfield was arrested, but not convicted, of a domestic violence accusation in May and a separate sexual misconduct involving a child under 15 in August.
