West Plains Kiwanis awards 3 grants to support local youth

The West Plains Kiwanis Club awarded three grants to local organizations during a presentation held last Tuesday. The grants, totaling $5,000, will provide funding for projects and programs that directly benefit youth throughout the West Plains area.

 

Glenwood School received a $2,000 grant to help replace playground equipment that was damaged during the recent tornado, allowing students to once again enjoy a safe and engaging outdoor play area.

 

Richards School was awarded a $2,000 grant to purchase classroom supplies for the upcoming school year, helping teachers and students begin the year with the resources they need for success.

 

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) received a $1,000 grant to support its general fund. The funding will help CASA continue its mission of investigating, monitoring, and advocating for the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in the foster care system.

 

"Supporting children is at the heart of everything Kiwanis does," said representatives of the West Plains Kiwanis Club. "We are proud to partner with organizations and schools that make a lasting difference in the lives of young people throughout our community."

 

The club also announced that a second round of youth-focused grant applications is currently under consideration. Additional grant recipients will be announced after the application review process is complete.
