While performing a traffic stop, a police officer found a passenger in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. 
Animal Control was contacted to catch two loose dogs that were too vicious for the police officer to catch.

A police officer took a theft report on Sara Street regarding a reported theft of medication.

Calls for Service
September 8
Officer Timothy Gordon responded to Mercy Hospital for a report of a man who was the victim of assault. Officer Gordon took the report from the man and discovered that the incident took place in the county, outside city limits. The officer contacted Howell County Sheriff’s Office to relay the information.  
Officer Gordon responded to Sara Street for a report of a man who would not leave a residence.  The officer spoke with the reporting party and learned the subject had left and was not supposed to return. The officer advised the reporting party to call the police department if the man returned. 
Officer Gordon received a call from an individual who was watching an empty house for a friend.  The individual had noticed a light on in the house when no one was supposed to be there.  Officer Gordon checked the house and found nothing suspicious. He communicated his findings to the caller and provided extra patrols around the house the rest of his shift.  
Officer Gordon was asked by a fellow agency to take a report at the Mercy Hospital from a dog bite victim.  Officer Gordon took the report and faxed it to the investigating officer. 
A woman contacted Corporal Trenton Roberts about a note with a disturbing message. The information was investigated.
Corporal Roberts was contacted by a man who reported a theft involving a debit card. Corporal Roberts gathered the information, and the man filled out a complaint form.
September 9
Officer Gregory Abney responded to a residence for a reported theft from a vehicle.
Officer Charles Brown was dispatched to the Valley View Apartments for a report of a motor vehicle accident that involved no injuries.
Corporal Roberts was dispatched to East Third St for a report of a man who had allegedly thrown limbs in the roadway.  The man was asked to remove the limbs, and though he was reluctant, the subject did eventually agree to do so. 
Corporal Roberts was dispatched to Pine Street for a reported missing debit card.  The card was not located. 
Corporal Roberts went to Malone’s Motel for a man who was reportedly causing a disturbance.  The subject was escorted off the property and given a courtesy ride. 
Corporal Roberts went to Belmont Street for a theft report.  He provided the reporting party with a form to fill out. 
September 10
Officer Brown was dispatched to the Anchor C-Store for a report of a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries. 
Officer Brown was dispatched to Greg’s Body Shop where a semi truck reportedly hit a power pole. 
Corporal Roberts was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries on State Highway 60 near the Anchor C-Store.  
Corporal Roberts was dispatched to the Honeysuckle Inn for a report of a disturbance.  Corporal Roberts made contact with both parties, and no physical altercation had taken place.
Corporal Roberts was dispatched to State Highway WW for a report of a truck driving off the road while the occupants were fighting.  Corporal Roberts located the vehicle, but only found one of the occupants, the driver. 
September 11
Corporal Roberts responded to a reported fight on Marr and East Fifth St.  Two of the individuals involved fled the scene, and the other individuals refused to speak to law enforcement.
A man called the police department to complain that he could not park his truck at the airport due to a football game.  Corporal Roberts advised the man that he could park his semi at the Signal or the Anchor C-Sore until the game ended.
An individual called the police department and spoke to Corporal Roberts to report that a tan pickup was driving recklessly and was running stop signs on State Highway 60.  The vehicle was unable to be located. 
Corporal Roberts was dispatched to East Seventh St. for a non-injury motor vehicle accident. Photos and information were taken for the accident report. 
A man came to the police department and spoke with Corporal Roberts.  The man stated that he was in a verbal altercation at the football game and he wanted to tell his side of the story in case it was reported. 
September 12
A woman called the police department and spoke with Corporal Roberts.  She informed him that she had photos of the damage for an incident report.  Corporal Roberts asked her to send the photos to the police department to be added to the report.
A man and woman came to the police department to file a harassment complaint.  Corporal Roberts gave each of them a complaint to fill out and both parties completed the form.     
Corporal Roberts was dispatched to Elm St.for a report of a dog that had been hit by a vehicle. When Corporal Roberts arrived the dog had not been hit, and had run off. The dog’s owner was only afraid the dog would get hit. 
Corporal Roberts was dispatched for a report of a suspicious person walking around vehicles in the Angelica building parking lot. Corporal Roberts spoke with the man, who stated his grandfather owns the building and cars.
Corporal Roberts was dispatched to the Valley View apartments for a report of a disturbance. Corporal Roberts spoke with both parties. Both stated it was just an argument, and it was not physical. 
September 13
Detective Stetson Schwien was dispatched to East Second St. for a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. Detective Schwien arrived on scene and spoke with the vehicle owner.  The owner stated that her car had been unlocked and her purse had been taken from the vehicle.  Detective Schwien took the report, and the matter is under investigation. 
Detective Schwien was dispatched to East Second St. for a report of a vehicle being tampered with during the overnight hours. Detective Schwien arrived on scene and spoke with the vehicle owner.  The owner stated his car and his truck had been left unlocked and someone had gone through the vehicles during the night. At that time nothing appeared to have been taken. Detective Schwien took the report and the matter is under investigation. 
Detective Schwien was requested to be on the lookout for a careless driver heading westbound on State Highway 60 from the Birch Tree area. Detective Schwien responded and watched State Highway 60 but was unable to locate the described vehicle.
