Incidents

Police officers were dispatched to Sonic for a report of teens causing a disturbance.  Two arrests were made in connection with minors attempting to purchase liquor.

An individual submitted a complaint form to the police department regarding an alleged theft. 
August 7
Police officers were dispatched to Walmart for a report of a man stealing.  The man admitted to the theft, and charges are pending. 
 
 
Calls for Service
August 3
Officer Timothy Gordon responded to a disturbance at a residence on East Fourth St.  The officer checked the area but was unable to locate any cause to the disturbance.  
August 5
A man came to the police department requesting information about a city department.  Corporal Trenton Roberts spoke with the man and gave him the information. 
A man came to the police department to get his fingerprints taken for employment.  Corporal Roberts assisted him. 
The Department of Family Services contacted Corporal Roberts in reference to one of their clients. 
A woman came to the police department to get her fingerprints taken for employment.  Corporal Roberts assisted the woman. 
Corporal Roberts was dispatched to Delp Road for a report of a careless and imprudent driver, but was unable to locate the vehicle.  
August 6
A woman came to the police department to post bond on outstanding warrants through the city. Corporal Roberts assisted the woman.  She posted a cash bond and was given a court date and time to appear. 
An individual contacted the police department to ask if someone worked for the police department. Corporal Roberts informed the individual that no one by that name worked for the police department. 
Corporal Roberts received a call for an unattended dog walking around West First St.  The dog was located and placed at the city dog pound.  
August 7
An individual contacted the police department requesting information about a scam.  Officer Dawnesha Scott spoke with the individual and provided information. 
Officer Scott received a call for a dog crying.  Officer Scott spoke with the dog’s owner and the animal was fine.  
Officer Scott was first on scene for a report of a woman having difficulty breathing.  EMS arrived and transported the woman to a local hospital.  
Officer Scott was dispatched to Marr St. for a report of an intoxicated driver. Upon arrival, the officer found the driver was not intoxicated.  
Officer Scott responded to a call reporting a careless and imprudent driver in the Walmart parking lot, but the vehicle was not located after officer arrival. 
August 8
An individual called the police department to report someone had thrown trash from their vehicle in the McDonalds parking lot.  Officer Dawnesha Scott responded, but was unable to locate the vehicle.  
An alarm was activated at the West Plains Bank ATM, but the call was cancelled. 
August 9
An individual called the police department to report an explosion on WW Highway.  Officer Dawnesha Scott arrived on scene to find a homeowner burning trash.  
The police department received a call for an animal complaint.  Officer Scott arrived on scene and resolved the issue.
A woman came to the police department to fill out a complaint on an incident that occurred the night before. Corporal Trenton Roberts took her statement and gave it to the officer who initially responded to the call. 
Missouri State Highway Patrol contacted Corporal Roberts to confirm a warrant. Officer Roberts confirmed the warrant, and the man was transported to the Howell County Jail. 
A man came to the police department to pay the bond on a Shannon County warrant. Shannon County Sheriff's Office informed Corporal Roberts that they did not have a warrant for the person's arrest.
