August 6
The police department performed a building security check at Booster Field.
Animal Control was dispatched to W. Fourth St. for a report of several dogs running loose.  It appeared the fence meant to contain the dogs had been broken.  Animal Control was unable to reach the dogs’ owner. Three dogs were taken to the pound, and Animal Control will reattempt to contact the owner.  
Animal Control responded to a complaint on North Grand St. The neighbor reported there were at least 20 chickens and 5 dogs at the residence.  Animal Control observed the animals and will make contact with the owners to discuss the issues. 
A police officer was dispatched to Love’s Truck Stop for a report of a domestic disturbance.  Upon arrival, the officer observed a man and a woman arguing and waited until they calmed down and left the scene. No further action was required. 
An individual contacted the police department to request assistance at the airport.  A family had landed in their aircraft to refuel, but the pumps were locked.  A police officer met them at the airport and contacted a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association to unlock the pumps for them to refuel. 
An officer was dispatched to assist the Missouri State Highway Troop G at a residence.  They were responding to a report of an individual who had just assaulted someone.  When they arrived on scene, the individual was not to be found.  The police officer continued to assist the Missouri State Highway Troop G with a search of the area.

A police officer intercepted a man who appeared to be heading to a location where there was a protection order.  The man stated he was not heading to the protected location and the police officer advised the man to vacate the area.

A man from Shannon County called to report his moped had been stolen and was at a residence on East Fourth St. A police officer went to the location, but did not find the reported individual or the moped.  
A woman called to report a suspicious person sitting outside her house in a truck for several hours.  A police officer went to her house and spoke with the man.  The man stated he was working for US Cellular on the tower near the house.  The officer confirmed this information.

The police department responded to a report of people standing in the road on S. 76 Highway by Z Highway.  The responding officer checked the area but was unable to locate anyone. 
August 9
A police officer was dispatched to assist a 97 year old man who had fallen and could not get up.  
The golf course superintendent called the police department regarding two golfers.  The golfers kept parking and driving their golf cart close to the greens after being told to keep the cart back from the greens.  
August 11
The police department responded to a report of a single motor vehicle accident on westbound 60 Highway just east of the south junction.  Missouri State Highway Troop G took the accident report, arrested the driver for multiple charges, and transported the driver to the Howell County Jail. 
A police officer responded to a report of children in a vehicle not being in carseats. The officer located the driver as they were pulling into a private drive.  The officer advised the driver to use proper safety seats in the future.  
An individual reported a motorcycle driving at a high rate of speed on East Sixth St.  A police officer observed the motorcycle and the radar indicated it was travelling at the posted speed limit. 
August 12
Officer John Thomas spoke with a man in the Town & Country parking lot around 11:00 p.m.  Earlier in the evening, while on a traffic stop, Officer Thomas observed the man and a passenger in a tan colored SUV drive by and “flip off” the officer.  Because this was a repeat occurrence, Officer Thomas explained to the man that his actions violated Municipal Code 210.221 under “Obscene Gestures toward a Willow Springs Police Officer” and stated that he would appreciate some professional courtesy while in the middle of a traffic stop. 
The man replied that this violated his rights, and Officer Thomas repeated that his actions violated code 210.221.
The week before, the man had shouted obscenities at Officer Thomas three different times while he passed the man’s home during routine patrol of E. Main St. When Officer Thomas pulled up to the man’s home to ask why he was yelling, the man stated he did not know what Officer Thomas was talking about.  This was approximately 1:30 a.m., and he was the only person outside that the officer could see.  This occurred after the officer observed the man travelling in the direction of a town where there was a protection order against him.  On this occasion, the officer followed the man for a short while on Springfield Rd until he turned off into a subdivision located on 11th St. Office Thomas then drove back around to the man’s home to find him back in his driveway.  
August 13
The police department performed a building security check at the golf course.
911 dispatched a police officer to Casey’s General Store for a front door motion alarm.  Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a woman.  She was an employee and stated this was her first time working with the alarm and had issues turning it off.
