Eagles claim Final Four honors

After a historic season, the Liberty Eagles traveled to Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Mo. to compete in the 2026 MSHSAA Basketball Show-Me Showdown with the top four Class 3 teams in the state.

With just two losses under their belt, Liberty entered the semi-finals to face one of the best teams in the nation, the Principia Panthers.

Principia's defense held Liberty's top scorers to single digit numbers, allowing them to dominate the floor. The Eagles fell to the Panthers 33-70, which was the closest score the Panthers had in MSHSAA post-season play.

Liberty went on to face North Platte for third place. The Eagles led for most of the game. Parker Tune scored 19 points for the Eagles, and Alex Tune added another 12 to the board, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. North Platte came back from a 12-point deficit to defeat the Eagles by a narrow 61-57.

The Liberty boys ended their season with an impressive 28-4 record, an undefeated SCA title, a District Championship, and Liberty basketball's first trip to state since 1988.
